Let Your Conscience be your Guide

Posted on Posted in Lifestyle

Greetings Everybody,

Most of you may be familiar with Jiminy Crickets famous phrase, “Let your conscience be your guide”, you may be wondering what a 1940’s Disney movie has anything to do with daily life and what really is a conscience. When thought of in a much broader sense your conscience is your inner self working to keep you on track.

Many times people say to me “Wow, I just didn’t feel good about that decision; I should have trusted my inner feelings.” That gut feeling is just what I am getting at. Every day we are bombarded with many decisions from simple to complex. Choices like what to eat for lunch to what color socks to wear are obviously not so tricky for most, but it’s the complex choices that we face, this is what I am referring to; the kind of choices that really get your mind thinking a lot of thoughts. I myself have faced many a similar situation and I have come to understand this, that each and every one of us has an inner guidance system sort of like an internal compass or GPS. Think of yourself like a vehicle driving along the road, if you begin to drift off course you will start to hit the rumble strips, sending a signal to guide yourself back on track.

So the next time you are faced with a decision that’s leaving you feeling uneasy, take a breather and relax. Understand that something isn’t feeling right for whatever reason even if you do not know why at that exact moment. When we’re stressed, feeling uneasy and having low mood thoughts it’s difficult to get a sense of clarity. Without having a clear mind we cannot make congruent choices for our life.

Wondering what the best way is you can deal with your next choice that leaves you feeling on edge; learn to start listening to your inner guidance system it’s trying to desperately get your attention for a reason. When you are able to return back to your natural calm state you gain a better sense overall clarity and you’ll be able to make the choice that is best suited for you.

May you all be well in spirit and health,
